LOVE DISPUTE TURNS BRUTAL

PATNA-----------------------A shocking incident of violence linked to an alleged love affair unfolded outside the Gardanibagh Mahila Thana in Patna, leaving one woman seriously injured after a part of her nose was bitten off.

According to preliminary information, the dispute centred around a young man from Arwal district who works as a clerk in a government school in Masaurhi. One of the women has alleged that the man had been in a relationship with her for about a year, physically exploited her after promising marriage, and also took ₹2 lakh from her. These claims have not been independently verified.

The young man reportedly arrived at the women’s police station with one of the women. Shortly afterwards, the second woman reached the spot along with her brother. When the two women came face to face, a heated argument quickly escalated into a fierce physical fight right in front of the police station complex.

During the scuffle, one woman bit the other’s nose so severely that a portion of it was severed. Chaos broke out in the area. Onlookers had to intervene and separate the two after considerable effort. Family members of the injured woman collected the severed part of the nose and rushed her for treatment.

She was first taken to Gardanibagh Hospital and later referred to Patna AIIMS for better medical care.

Police from the women’s police station confirmed that a dispute between two women had taken place in which one sustained injuries and was sent for treatment. Officers said no written complaint has been filed by either side so far. Further action will be taken only after a formal application is received.

The incident has raised serious questions about how disputes over relationships, alleged betrayal and financial exploitation can spiral into extreme violence — especially in a place meant for women’s safety and dispute resolution.
