Anant Singh further said that even if the leaders talk about living together, there is a lot of resentment among the public regarding this matter. The public believes that they had cast their valuable vote in the name of Nitish Kumar. Despite this, someone else was appointed to the post. The public did not like this political game at all, due to which there was huge dissatisfaction among the common people towards BJP.

The public is extremely saddened by this entire political incident. People feel that Nitish Kumar was deliberately sidelined. When MLA Anant Singh was asked whether the result of Bankipur could have been different had Nitish Kumar been present in the constituency, he clearly expressed his views. He said that if Nitish Kumar himself had stayed there, then definitely such a result of the election would never have come.

"There is discussion everywhere about Nitish Kumar that we (the public) voted for him and he has been removed. There is no truth in this. He has deviated from his plan but there is a discussion among the public that he has been removed. Now, wherever elections are held, the same situation will happen there. The public is angry that who did we make the Chief Minister and whom did they make. The public is angry that in whose name we vote and in the middle they (the party) make changes. BJP leader Ritu Jaiswal said that in a democracy, the decision of victory or defeat is always decided by the people and not just by the noise of slogans. Those who used to blame EVMs for every defeat till yesterday, there is a dire need to introspect today. If indeed the election machines had decided the victory, then the ruling party would never have lost the elections nor would there have been such a crushing defeat on the seat of their national president.

The results of the by-election held on the high-profile Bankipur assembly seat of Patna have created a stir in the politics of Bihar. Jan Suraj's Prashant Kishore registered a historic victory in Bankipur, considered to be the strongest stronghold of BJP. PK defeated his nearest rival Neeraj Kumar Sinha by 19,324 votes. Prashant Kishore, who entered the electoral fray for the first time, got a total of 64,151 votes. Whereas BJP candidate Neeraj Kumar got 44,827 votes.
