ARA-------------------------A grand and spirited Teachers' Day celebration was held on Saturday on the premises of Plus-2 High School, Piro. Students, teachers, and staff members participated in the event with great enthusiasm. The entire school campus was imbued with the spirit of the *Guru-Shishya* (teacher-student) tradition, respect, and vibrant cultural hues.

The program commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and the offering of floral tributes by the school's Headmaster, Bhim Rai. On this occasion, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan—India's great educationist, philosopher, and former President—was remembered with reverence. Highlighting his life and contributions to the field of education, teachers encouraged students to draw inspiration from his ideals. The ceremony began with an invocation (*Mangalacharan*) performed by Abhay Kumar Upadhyay. Subsequently, students Chandni, Khushbu, Shammi, and Sakshi expressed their reverence and respect for their teachers through a *Guru Vandana* (tribute to the teacher). Their performance created an emotionally moving atmosphere at the event.

Students presented various cultural, social, and awareness-oriented programs. Ruchi, Khushi, and Khushbu delivered impressive performances in a play titled 'Eyes Opening.' Through this play, students conveyed a message about avoiding social evils and harmful habits. The play was directed by Abhay Kumar Upadhyay. A program on de-addiction was a major highlight of the ceremony; students endeavored to spread awareness about the adverse effects of substance abuse. Deepak Upadhyay, Saurabh, Nikhil, Asif, Aijaz, and Prince performed as actors in this segment. Through their presentation, the students conveyed that substance abuse harms an individual's health, family, and society. They emphasized that the youth should stay away from addiction and engage instead in education, sports, and creative activities.

Following this, the female students presented a captivating performance of the traditional *Jhijhiya* dance. Khushi, Shweta, Khushbu, Khushi, Preeti, Ruchi, Preeti, Khushbu, and Suhana participated in the event. The traditional folk dance performance was a highlight of the ceremony, drawing enthusiastic applause from the audience. During the event, Dr. Manoj Kumar delivered an address elaborating on the significance of Teachers' Day. This was followed by musical performances by Vikas Chandra and Prakash Chandra Ojha. Meanwhile, the female students infused the program with energy and excitement by performing an engaging dance to the song '52 Gaj Ka'. The students' talent and confidence were evident throughout the cultural performances. The event concluded with a presidential address and a vote of thanks by the school's Headmaster, Bhim Rai. He emphasized that, alongside academics, organizing cultural, social, and awareness-related activities is essential for the holistic development of students. The program ended with Headmaster Bhim Rai singing a song reflecting on life: "Maati ke e banal shaririya—maati mein mil jaai... e bhai ho kehu kuch leke na jaai..." (This body is made of earth and will return to the earth; oh brother, no one takes anything with them when they go).
