PATNA---------------------------A shameful incident has occurred at a guest house in Patna. A case of rape has been reported involving a young woman at the 'Sainik Guest House,' located near PGS Mor within the jurisdiction of the Khagaul police station (near Patna), where she was allegedly assaulted under the guise of being offered a government job. The victim alerted the authorities by calling 'Dial 112'; however, the accused had already fled by the time the police arrived. The police have taken the guest house operator into custody for questioning. After notifying her family, the police sent the young woman to AIIMS, Phulwari, for a medical examination. A case has been registered based on her statement. The accused is reportedly a resident of Bhojpur district.

The victim told the police that she had met the accused while traveling on a bus. He had claimed to be a senior government official and asserted that he could secure jobs for several people. Following their initial meeting, the two remained in contact over the phone for about a week. The accused had lured her to Patna by promising her a job.

The victim stated that on Sunday, he called her to the Sainik Guest House under the pretext of discussing the necessary documentation and procedures. She alleges that he took her into a room and raped her.

Station House Officer (SHO) Ranjan Kumar stated that the guest house operator, Ankit Kumar, has been taken into custody for questioning. He added that the room in the guest house has been sealed, and the visitor register has been seized for investigation. CCTV footage from the vicinity of the incident is being examined. A case has been registered, a medical examination has been conducted, and raids are underway to apprehend the absconding accused. The accused is believed to be from the area around Ara.
