ARA----------------------------The city's traffic management system is once again under scrutiny. For the past few days, the traffic congestion near 'Zero Mile'—considered the southern gateway to the city—has become a chronic problem. The jam, which began early this Monday morning, has become a source of immense trouble for pedestrians and motorists alike. This situation has not only led to a waste of time but has also turned the daily commute into an agonizing experience for the public.

The primary causes of the congestion are the dilapidated condition of the roads and waterlogging. Large potholes on the roads are obstructing the flow of traffic rather than merely regulating speed. Furthermore, the tendency of drivers to race and overtake one another has exacerbated the situation. Indiscipline and a disregard for traffic rules have resulted in long queues of vehicles, bringing traffic movement to a near-standstill.

The impact of this traffic jam is most severe on the key routes connecting Ara to Sasaram, Arwal, Mohania, and Patna. Commuters are forced to spend hours on journeys that should take far less time, causing significant inconvenience and loss to office-goers and businesspeople.

The most concerning aspect is the plight of children on school buses. Due to the traffic jam, school children are forced to remain stuck in buses for hours, which adversely affects both their studies and their health. Additionally, finding a safe path has become difficult for pedestrians. For those traveling from the district's southern areas into the city, this has become a daily ordeal.
