PACS PRESIDENT SHOT DEAD

PATNA------------------------A brazen attack in Maner’s Byapur village under Patna district on the night of 18–19 October 2026 left Primary Agricultural Credit Society (PACS) president Sanjeev Kumar (also referred to as Sanjit Kumar alias Bhalu or Bhanu) dead and the husband of the local Block Pramukh critically injured.

Four masked men on two motorcycles opened indiscriminate fire on Sanjeev Kumar and Pintu Kumar (alias Pintu Poison), husband of Block Pramukh Rinki Devi, while the two were sitting on a platform (dalaan) around 9–10 pm. Sanjeev Kumar was hit in the chest and later succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Pintu Kumar sustained bullet wounds in his leg and thigh and remains in a serious condition at a hospital in Danapur’s Saguna More area.

The sudden firing triggered panic and a stampede-like situation in a nearby Dussehra fair. Police have launched a massive manhunt to identify and arrest the attackers. Preliminary reports suggest the incident may be linked to local political or panchayat-level rivalry. The area remains tense as investigations continue.
