SASARAM------------------------Shakuntala Devi (alias Kanti Devi), a resident under the jurisdiction of Dehri Mufassil Police Station in Rohtas district, was married in 2014. Allegations were made against her in-laws—specifically her husband and father-in-law—accusing them of murdering her; consequently, a case (Dehri Town Police Station Case No. 329/14, dated August 20, 2014) was registered.
It has been discovered that the woman is alive and residing in the Garhwa district of Jharkhand. The Superintendent of Police (SP), Rohtas, was informed of this. Under the SP's direction, a police team was sent to Garhwa district for verification; the woman was safely recovered and brought back to Rohtas.
The police are now registering an FIR against the woman for misleading authorities, and she is being produced before the honorable court.
