CONGRESS TOOK OUT PROTEST MARCH

ARA--------------------------The Bhojpur District Congress Committee—led by District President Dr. Sridhar Tiwari—organized a massive protest march. This demonstration was held to oppose the FIR filed against national leader and Leader of the Opposition, Shri Rahul Gandhi, by the Uttarakhand government under police pressure. The FIR was a move to silence his vocal opposition to the anti-Dalit mindset prevalent among BJP and RSS members—a mindset that had manifested in the "purification" of the venue and stage in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, where Congress National President and Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Shri Mallikarjun Kharge, had held a meeting on August 8. Hundreds of Congress workers, along with senior party leaders, participated in the march.

District President Sridhar Tiwari stated that BJP and RSS members in the country are actively promoting discrimination and untouchability.

He noted that whenever someone raises their voice against untouchability and demands justice, an FIR is lodged against that very person. In Haldwani, Uttarakhand, where Congress President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge had addressed a gathering, BJP members performed a "purification" ritual at the site. Shri Rahul Gandhi demanded strict action against those responsible for such a shameful act. However, shockingly, instead of taking action against those who performed the purification, the Uttarakhand police—acting at the behest of the BJP—registered an FIR against Rahul Gandhi himself. The purification incident in Haldwani constitutes a violation of the SC/ST Act; consequently, a case should also be registered against the police officials for failing to take action against the actual perpetrators. The entire Dalit community will give a fitting reply to the RSS-BJP government for conspiring to file false cases against Rahul Gandhi in Uttarakhand. We are not people who cower in fear; we are fighters, and we will secure justice through struggle. AICC representative Dr. Shashi Kumar Singh stated that the insult to Mallikarjun Kharge is an insult to the entire Dalit community—something the Congress party will never tolerate. He added that this false case filed against Rahul Gandhi is akin to a badge of honor for him. Those present at the event included Lal Sharan Singh, Media In-charge Virendra Mishra, Professor Nirmal Kumar Singh, Ashok Yadav, Prof. Arun Kumar Singh, Pramod Rai, Baban Pandey, Razi Ahmed, Youth District President Dr. Bhanu Pratap Singh, Nagendra Mishra, Manoj Kumar Anjani, Chitranjan Munna, Lutavan Chaurasia, Ranjit Yadav, Ajay Paswan, Shivnarayan Dubey, Imdad Ahmed, Madan Mohan Tiwari, Pushpak Kumar Pandey, Ghanshyam Chaudhary, Arun Kumar Arun, Shrikant Rai, Ramayan Ji, and Lal Babu Gupta.
