ARA--------------------------A young man from Chaubepur met a tragic end in a road accident near the Dhangai Police Station early this morning. The victim, 27-year-old Om Prakash Singh—a resident of Chaubepur village—was cycling towards Jagdishpur along NH-30 when he was struck violently from behind by a pickup truck. He died instantly at the scene. Police from the Dhangai station arrived promptly at the site and transported him to the Dulaur Sub-Divisional Hospital, where doctors officially pronounced him dead. Upon the arrival of his family members, his body was sent to the Sadar Hospital in Arrah for a post-mortem examination. Having received information regarding this incident, I also visited the hospital to offer appropriate counsel and advised the family to proceed to Arrah for the post-mortem. Later, upon returning to the village from Arrah, I visited the family again; the eyes of all the villagers were moist with grief. He had been married just last year and leaves behind a one-and-a-half-month-old daughter. The entire village is engulfed in mourning following this tragedy; his wife and mother are inconsolable and in a state of utter distress from constant weeping. His body was subsequently taken to Mahuli Ghat for the final rites.
