ARA--------------------------In a spine-chilling incident, armed miscreants shot a truck driver in the mouth in Bhojpur district. The driver was returning home after unloading sand. In the wee hours of Wednesday, a sensational crime unfolded in Koyil village under Charpokhari police station in Bhojpur district. Around 4 a.m., armed miscreants gunned down a truck driver. The bullet pierced through his mouth and lodged in his neck, leaving him critically injured. Family members rushed him to a private hospital in Ara town, where his condition is now reported to be stable. The victim, identified as 22-year-old Amarendra Singh, son of Sanjay Singh from Jagjivanpura village under Imadpur police station, is a truck driver by profession, caught up in daily work.

His father-in-law, Ravi Singh, recounted, “He was returning after unloading sand in the morning. We got word he’d been shot. I rushed to the spot and took him to the hospital. My son-in-law drives a truck for a living. I don’t know if he had any enmity with anyone.” Charpokhari SHO Santosh Kumar Singh said, “Initial probes suggest this could be a case of personal rivalry. It’s likely the attack stemmed from old grudges. The police are digging deep into all angles and hunting for the culprits.” The bullet, which hit Amarendra in the mouth, wrecked his internal parts and teeth before lodging in his neck. Surgeon Dr. Vikas Singh, who operated on him, explained, “The bullet struck his mouth, damaging internal tissues and shattering teeth before getting stuck in his neck. We successfully removed the bullet and repaired the damaged areas, securing the blood flow. He’s stable but under observation.” Police from Charpokhari station, led by SHO Santosh Kumar Singh, reached the spot and launched a thorough investigation into the incident.
