TMC Leader Jahangir Khan Under Scanner as SIT Recovers Documents of Around 60 Properties
The investigation into Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Jahangir Khan has intensified after the Special Investigation Team (SIT) reportedly recovered documents related to around **60 properties** linked to him and his wife. Investigators are now examining the ownership, financial transactions and sources of income associated with these assets.
According to sources, the recovered documents include land parcels, houses, flats and other immovable properties. The SIT is probing how these assets were acquired, whether they were purchased through legitimate means or obtained under coercion, and whether the funds used for the transactions were from legal sources.
The investigation is also focusing on the previous owners of the properties, the purchase prices and whether all sale deeds and related documents comply with legal requirements. If necessary, investigators are expected to scrutinize bank accounts and financial transactions connected to the alleged property acquisitions.
The probe was initiated after a local leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party filed a complaint at the Falta police station, alleging that Jahangir Khan and his family had amassed substantial assets through illegal means and were involved in suspicious financial transactions.
Jahangir Khan had contested the **2026 West Bengal Assembly election** as the TMC candidate from the Falta constituency. Authorities have stated that the investigation is ongoing and that further action will depend on the evidence collected.
