RPF ARRESTED 80 MISCREANTS

SASARAM--------------------------The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has carried out a major operation under 'Operation Yatri Suraksha' (Passenger Safety Operation) within the Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Division of East Central Railway. Under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Uday Singh Meena and the leadership of Senior Divisional Security Commissioner Dinesh Singh Tomar, the RPF has arrested a total of 80 criminals involved in the theft of passenger luggage up to May of this year.

Leveraging CCTV footage, an informant network, and effective surveillance, the RPF apprehended the highest number of offenders—47—at the Gaya post, followed by 18 at Dehri-on-Sone, 8 at DDU, 3 at Sasaram, 3 at Rafiganj, and 1 at Japla, all with stolen property. This figure represents a 63% increase compared to the same period last year. Many of the arrested individuals have prior involvement in criminal cases.

The Senior Divisional Security Commissioner stated that action against such criminals will continue through the use of CCTV and informant networks. The RPF has appealed to passengers to keep an eye on their belongings during travel and to immediately report any suspicious individuals via the railway helpline (139) or to the nearest RPF personnel. Passenger cooperation is essential in ensuring the safety of railway premises.
