PATNA-------------------------The Bihar State Development and Finance Corporation Limited and the Department of Art and Culture, Government of Bihar, organized a free screening of the film "Haq" at the Regent Cinema Hall in Patna, the capital, to commemorate International Women's Day. This film, based on the life of Shahnaz Bano in the 1980s, depicts a powerful struggle against the cruelty and intolerance of triple talaq by men. In 2023, thanks to the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this draconian and inhumane law was abolished, liberating Muslim women from this age-old unjust custom and tradition of male dominance and masculinity. For this, every Muslim woman should express her gratitude to Narendra Modi.

If not verbally, then at least in her heart, on this International Women's Day, we must express our gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for rejecting this demonic Muslim law and giving women respect, in the context of women's empowerment.

Needless to say, the Bihar government justified the film's release from this perspective. The government should continue to strive in this way to build a healthy society.

In this film, 'Haq,' based on a true story, the lively performances of all the actors, especially Shazia (played by Gautam) and her husband Abbas Khan (Emraan Hashmi), and the powerful direction of Suparn Verma, have elevated the film and impacted the audience in a way that deeply stirred and agitated their minds. This film raises questions about women's dignity, rights, and justice. Most notably, the film's writer, Reshu Nath, is from Bihar and a former alumnus of Notre Dame School, Patna.

Needless to say, there is no doubt that on this occasion, officials of the Art, Culture Department of Bihar Government as well as other departments, litterateurs, artists, journalists, professors and their families, a large number of women were seen present among the general public, who after watching this socially inspiring film, would not have missed taking a pledge in their hearts to fight for and achieve their rights like Shazia (Shahnaz Bano) in any field, it would not be an exaggeration to say so.
