BHABHUA-------------------------Under the Road Safety Month 2026, the administration has geared up to curb road accidents in the district and create awareness among the general public about traffic rules. In this regard, a grand 'Special Drivers' Refresher Training Program' was organized at the Kaimur Motor Driving School. More than 100 commercial and private vehicle drivers participated in this program, where they were apprised of the intricacies of safe vehicle operation.
During the training session, expert officers from the Transport Department provided detailed information to the drivers about various types of traffic signs and their importance. The experts sternly warned that overspeeding and driving under the influence of alcohol are not only illegal but also prove fatal. Drivers were sensitized about the mandatory use of helmets while riding two-wheelers and seat belts while driving four-wheelers.
Addressing the program, senior officials of the District Transport Office said that road safety is not just a rule, but a fundamental principle of saving lives. Citing the directives of the Hon'ble Supreme Court's Road Safety Committee, they stated that if drivers follow safety standards with discipline, a 10 percent reduction in road accidents can be achieved annually, which will greatly help in minimizing the death rate.
A motivating scene was witnessed on this occasion when more than 100 drivers undergoing training stood together and took a collective oath with full sincerity to abide by road safety rules and the Motor Vehicles Act. The drivers resolved that they would not only drive disciplined themselves but would also inspire others in society to do the same. The Additional District Transport Officer (ADTO) Kaimur, Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI), and Enforcement Sub-Inspector (ESI) were prominently present at this special training program. In their addresses, the officers emphasized the slogan "Road Safety - Life Safety" and said that safe travel is the moral responsibility of every citizen and following the rules is the only effective way to avoid accidents.
