20-APRIL-ENG 7

RAJIV NAYAN AGRAWAL

ARA-----------------------------Recently, the Bhojpur Police registered an FIR at the Cyber Police Station against individuals who posted provocative videos and displayed weapons on social media while identifying themselves as a ‘brand’ or ‘gang.’ Following police pressure and investigation, the operators and members of ‘Akki Brand’ Bhojpur King appeared at the Bhojpur Cyber Police Station and admitted to their wrongdoing. Subsequently, the Cyber Police Station released them after issuing a stern warning and serving them with necessary notices; meanwhile, investigations into the operators and members of other ‘brands’ and ‘gangs’ are underway, and appropriate action is being taken.

It is pertinent to note that on April 10, the Cyber Police Station registered FIRs against 14 distinct ‘gangs’ and ‘brands’ for posting provocative content on social media under these group names. Based on received information and evidence, the Cyber Police registered cases at the Bhojpur Cyber Police Station against groups such as Bhojpur King Dhur Brand, Kariya Mahto GM Brand, Guddu Mahto/Guddu Kushwaha Ji, Kushwaha Gangster, Ravan Brand, KG Brand Ara, Akki Brand Bhojpur King 302, Fire Brand, D. Company, Bahiro Brand, RC Company (Samrat_ Ranjit_ Chaudhary_ Ji_), Mithilesh Paswan Group, Villain Brand Katira, Kohinoor Brand (Ramna), and JN Company, among others.

In connection with the aforementioned cases, FIRs were registered under Sections 352, 353(1), and 353(2) of the BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita); Section 67 of the IT Act; and Section 25 of the Arms Act. Appealing to the residents of Bhojpur, the Superintendent of Police (SP) urged them to refrain from engaging in such activities, warning that failure to do so would inevitably result in appropriate legal action.

The police are continuously monitoring social media platforms. Strict action will be taken against any individual who attempts to promote—or establish dominance on behalf of—any ‘gang,’ ‘brand,’ or ‘king,’ or who posts objectionable comments. If anyone challenges law and order by openly displaying weapons, they will be identified and sent to judicial custody. Appealing to parents, the SP urged them to keep a close watch on their children's social media activities to ensure they do not, knowingly or unknowingly, become involved in any criminal activity.
