ARA-----------------------------A collision occurred between a container truck and a Scorpio carrying wedding guests on the Patna-Buxar four-lane highway, near Garhatha village within the Brahampur police station area of the district. One person traveling in the Scorpio died in the accident. He succumbed to his injuries on the way while being transported to Patna for treatment. Meanwhile, seven other individuals, including the driver, sustained injuries. Their treatment is currently being administered by their family members at various private hospitals. According to reports, the deceased has been identified as Mukesh Nat, the 30-year-old son of Lalan Nat, a resident of Saraiya village within the Krishnagarh police station area. Meanwhile, the deceased's brother-in-law, Guddu Kumar, stated that a wedding procession (baraat) for the son of Vinod Nat—a resident of Belwaniya village in the Bihiya police station area—and his own cousin was taking place on Sunday. Consequently, he had traveled from Belwaniya village to Buxar in the Scorpio. On Monday morning, as the group was returning from the wedding procession in the Scorpio, the container truck traveling ahead of them near Garhatha village suddenly applied its brakes. As a result, the Scorpio crashed into the rear of the container truck. The collision left eight people—including Mukesh Nat and the driver—injured. Family members initially took Mukesh Nat to the Sadar Hospital for treatment, from where he was referred to Patna due to his critical condition. However, while being transported to Patna by his family, he passed away en route. Subsequently, the family members brought the body back to the Sadar Hospital, where the police arranged for a post-mortem examination. Meanwhile, the seven injured individuals—including the driver—are currently undergoing treatment at various private hospitals under the care of their families. It is reported that the deceased was the eldest among his four sisters and one brother; he was the sole male heir and "light of the eyes" for his parents. His surviving family includes his wife, Pushpa Devi; four daughters—Anjali, Sony, Nandini, and Kavya; and one son, Baliram (alias Golu). The incident has plunged the deceased's home into deep mourning and chaos. His wife, Pushpa Devi, and all other family members are inconsolable with grief.
