BHABHUA----------------------------During the discussion on the health department's budget cut proposal in the Bihar Assembly, the Ramgarh MLA from Kaimur district targeted the government. He said, "Cure is achieved not by statistics, but by doctors!" The MLA rejected the government's data and exposed the severe shortage of doctors in hospitals.

According to World Health Organization (WHO) standards, there should be one doctor per 1,000 people, but in Bihar, the average is one doctor per 20,000 people. The situation in neighboring states is much worse—Uttar Pradesh has 2,363 doctors, West Bengal has 1,337 doctors, Jharkhand has 3,000 doctors, and Kerala has only one doctor per 500 people. There is a severe shortage of doctors in Kaimur district and the Ramgarh assembly constituency. Sadar Hospital, Bhabua, has only 23 doctors out of 57 sanctioned positions. Ramgarh Referral Hospital has only 3 doctors for 13 positions, Durgawati Community Health Center has 3 doctors for 14 positions, and Nuaov Primary Health Center has 4 doctors for 9 positions.

The MLA requested the Health Minister to ensure immediate recruitment of doctors to Kaimur Sadar Hospital and regional hospitals. He also demanded the construction of a super-specialist hospital and trauma center along NH-19 GT Road in Durgawati.
