MAN JAILED AFTER CLIMBING HIGH TENSION TOWER

BUXAR---------------------------Police have arrested and remanded to judicial custody a young man who caused a commotion by climbing a high-tension electricity tower near Athar village, within the jurisdiction of the Vasudeva police station. The police initiated legal action by registering an FIR based on their own statement regarding the incident. Vasudeva Station House Officer (SHO) Anil Kumar Paswan confirmed the details.

According to reports, Suraj Kumar Paswan, a resident of Kachainiya village, took this drastic step on Wednesday afternoon following a dispute related to a romantic relationship, creating a chaotic atmosphere in the area.

The young man climbed a high-tension electricity tower (with a capacity of approximately 132,000 volts) near Athar village and refused to come down. Eyewitnesses stated that he kept demanding that his girlfriend be brought to the scene.

Upon receiving information about the incident, police teams from Vasudeva and Koransarai stations arrived at the site. Police officials made significant efforts to reason with the young man and bring him down safely, but he remained adamant about his demand. A large number of villagers gathered at the scene during this time, further complicating the sensitive situation. After a standoff lasting about two and a half hours, the young woman in question was brought to the site through the combined efforts of the police and locals. Once she arrived, the young man calmed down and agreed to descend from the tower. Fortunately, no untoward incident occurred during the ordeal, and he was brought down safely.

After coming down, the police took him into custody for questioning. During interrogation, he spoke of the emotional distress caused by his romantic relationship. According to the police, his actions not only put his own life at risk but could have also adversely affected the power supply and law and order situation. Station House Officer Anil Kumar Paswan stated that an FIR has been registered for endangering public safety and disrupting public order. After completing the necessary legal formalities, the accused youth was remanded to judicial custody on Thursday. The police have appealed to the public not to take such dangerous actions while acting under the influence of strong emotions.
