PATNA-------------------------Lalu Yadav and Rabri Devi unexpectedly departed for Delhi on Mahashivratri. It is believed that Lalu and Rabri may appear before the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi in connection with the Land for Jobs case.
Big news is emerging from Patna, the capital of Bihar. RJD supremo Lalu Yadav and former Chief Minister Rabri Devi unexpectedly departed for Delhi on Sunday. It is believed that Lalu and Rabri may appear before the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi. Earlier, Bihar's Leader of the Opposition, Tejaswi Yadav, had also arrived at the Rouse Avenue Court. In fact, the court had given Lalu Yadav, Rabri Devi, Tejaswi Yadav, and Tej Pratap Yadav a month's time to appear before the court in the Land for Jobs case. They were to appear between February 1st and February 25th.
It should be noted that during a hearing on January 29th, the Rouse Avenue Court ordered that Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, Tejashwi Yadav, and Tej Pratap Yadav must appear in court between February 1st and 25th for formal framing of charges. Following this, Tejashwi Yadav appeared in the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi on February 9th. During this hearing, Tejashwi Yadav denied the allegations against him and stated that he would fight the case and face the charges in court. Tejashwi Yadav's father, Lalu Yadav, has been accused of taking land from people in exchange for railway jobs between 2004 and 2009, while he was Railway Minister. Tejashwi Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav have also been named as accused in this case.
The Land for Jobs case is a highly controversial issue linked to central and Bihar politics. This incident dates back to the time when Lalu Prasad Yadav was Railway Minister in the central government between 2004 and 2009. It is alleged that during this period, land was taken from candidates or their relatives in exchange for Group D jobs in the railways. According to investigating agencies, land in Patna and surrounding areas was transferred to members of the Lalu family and companies linked to them at concessional rates or as donations in exchange for securing railway jobs for several candidates. This land later proved to be very valuable.
