PATNA---------------------------Among the four literary luminaries in Hindi poetry: Jaishankar Prasad, Sumitranandan Pant, Suryakant Tripathi 'Nirala,' and Mahadevi Verma, who are considered the pillars of the Chhayavad era, great poet Jaishankar Prasad is prominent. He was a pioneering literary figure who gave the Hindi world many invaluable works, including the world-renowned epic 'Kamayani,' which has brought glory to Hindi literature in the fields of poetry, short stories, novels, and plays. 'Kamayani' is considered a world epic.

These remarks were made by conference president Dr. Anil Sulabh while presiding over the birth anniversary celebrations and poetry conference of great poet Jaishankar Prasad, held at the Bihar Hindi Sahitya Sammelan on Friday. He noted that the great poet's father, Babu Devi Prasad, was a successful and respected businessman. But he lost his father in his childhood. Prasad Ji shouldered the heavy burden of supporting the entire family and managing the business. As a result, his regular education suffered. He relied solely on self-study. At home, he deeply studied Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu, English, and Persian, devoting all his energies to poetry and writing. He was not only a deeply sensitive and emotional poet, but also a compassionate person. He gave everything he had to literature and society. Consequently, he lived a life of deprivation and suffering. Tuberculosis claimed his life at the age of 48. His life was short, but his literary personality was immense. He wrote prolifically in almost all genres of literature.

Conference Vice-Presidents Prof. Madhu Verma, Dr. Ratneshwar Singh, Mr. Ashok Kumar, Indu Bhushan Sahay, Dr. Renu Mishra, and Mr. Anand Kishore Mishra also expressed their views.

Chanda Mishra began the poetry conference organized on this occasion with a speech. Senior poetess Aradhana Prasad, Professor Sunil Kumar Upadhyay, Sujata Mishra, Jyoti Pascal, Dr. Shalini Pandey, Dineshwar Lal 'Divyanshu', Sanjay Lal Chaudhary, and other poets paid tribute to the great poet with their poetry.

The stage was moderated by young poet Surya Prakash Upadhyay, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Krishna Ranjan Singh. Eminent figures such as Sachchidanand Sharma, Dr. Amarendra Mishra, Dr. Chandrashekhar Azad, Bhaskar Tripathi, Uday Gandhi, and Anita Kumari were present on the occasion
