ARA---------------------------The victim of the Unnao rape case met with Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday evening. The victim shared her anguish regarding justice, security, and the future of her family. Just hours after this meeting, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) suddenly became active and decided to appeal against the bail granted to Kuldeep Sengar in the Supreme Court of India.

During the meeting, the victim and her family presented three demands: arrangement of a top lawyer for a strong legal battle in the Supreme Court, relocation to a Congress-ruled state for the family's safety, and better employment for the victim's husband. Rahul Gandhi assured them of all possible help on all three issues. Sonia Gandhi, who was also present at the meeting, reassured the family. According to the family, both leaders emotionally said, "Don't worry, we will get you justice."

It is noteworthy that the victim had previously made several attempts to meet the Prime Minister and the Home Minister, but was denied an audience. The government remained silent. However, after the meeting with Rahul Gandhi, the system suddenly sprang into action. This is not a mere coincidence of timing, but raises serious questions about the priorities of the system.

The Unnao case has been one of the most horrific cases in the country. The refusal to register an FIR, the death of the victim's father in custody, the mysterious death of a witness, and the deaths of two aunts in a road accident—all were attempts to intimidate the victim. Sengar was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2019, but the bail has reopened old wounds. In this context, Rahul Gandhi's support for the victim shows that the fight for justice continues even after the conviction.
