ARA--------------------------A massive protest was organized on Sunday at the Dr. Naveen Chandra Ram Ghulam Additional Health Center in Harigaon, Jagdishpur block, demanding the restoration of 24-hour medical services. Senior Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Jagdishpur MLA, Bhai Dinesh, said that if essential services such as doctors, nurses, medicines, ambulances, testing, and delivery services are not restored at the center by February 16, 2026, then the office of the Civil Surgeon, Bhojpur, will be gheraoed (surrounded). Thousands of women, men, elderly people, youth, students, laborers, and athletes participated in the massive protest, united in their demand for basic healthcare facilities. The protest was presided over by Harigaon Mukhiya Tuna Chaubey, while it was conducted by Virendra Singh.

Addressing the massive protest, Bhai Dinesh directly questioned the DM, SDM, and Civil Surgeon of Bhojpur. He asked why, 11 months after the inauguration of the Dr. Naveen Chandra Ram Ghulam Additional Health Center during the Honorable Chief Minister's progress tour on February 16, 2025, basic services such as 24-hour doctors, nurses, medicines, ambulances, testing, and delivery services have still not been restored?

Bhai Dinesh leveled serious allegations against these officials, stating that it is due to their negligence and lack of initiative that the Honorable Chief Minister's announcement has not yet been implemented on the ground. He emphasized that it is extremely unfortunate that this health center, built at a cost of crores of rupees and located in the ancestral village of the Honorable Prime Minister of Mauritius, Dr. Naveen Chandra Ram Ghulam, has remained merely a showpiece, while the people of the area are deprived of basic healthcare services.

The memorandum of demands submitted through the massive protest clearly stated that the health center was inaugurated by the Honorable Chief Minister of Bihar during his progress tour on February 16, 2025, and at the same time, it was announced that all necessary medical services would be available at the center 24 hours a day. However, even today, January 4, 2026, almost a year later, the Chief Minister's announcement remains unfulfilled. The rural population has unanimously demanded that 24-hour doctor, nurse, medicine, ambulance, testing, and delivery services be immediately restored at the center.

Brother Dinesh, while revealing the future strategy, said that if their demands are not met soon, the next step for the rural population will be to gherao the chamber of the Civil Surgeon, Bhojpur, on February 16, 2026. He clarified that even after this, if the 24-hour services are not restored as per the Honorable Chief Minister's announcement, they will also stage a protest at the residence of the Honorable Chief Minister of Bihar Government. Brother Dinesh said that in case of any untoward incident during this period, the entire responsibility will lie with the government and the administration.
