Patna NEET Student Death Case: A major update has emerged in the case of the suspicious death of a NEET student living at the Shambhu Girls Hostel in Patna. A 20-member Central Bureau of Investigation team arrived at the student's village in the Shakurabad police station area of Jehanabad district around 9 a.m. on Sunday. The team arrived in five vehicles and began the investigation under the leadership of the CBI Inspector General.
The CBI team conducted extensive questioning of the family members for approximately four hours, from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Family members were interviewed in separate rooms. During the interrogation, the student's mother, father, brother, sister-in-law, aunt, and grandmother were questioned on every aspect of the case. Police from the Shakurabad police station were also present during the investigation, and media was prohibited from lingering near the house.
Following the interrogation, the CBI team took the student's belongings, including scissors, pens, notebooks, books, bags, and clothes. The student's brother's mobile phone was also confiscated. The team comprised a total of 20 officers, including the CBI IG and Superintendent of Police.
The SIT team visited Jehanabad approximately ten times, but the family was dissatisfied with the Bihar Police's investigation. Questions were constantly raised about the case, and protests were also held at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. In light of the family's pressure and the growing controversy, the state government recommended a CBI investigation on January 31st. The CBI registered a case two days ago and intensified the investigation. On Sunday, the CBI team arrived at the student's village for the first time and began the investigation.
