BHABHUA--------------------------The main market road in Kudra Nagar Panchayat has been in a dilapidated state for a long time. Local traders, commuters, and devotees face immense daily difficulties due to large potholes, broken road surfaces, and waterlogging. Residents state that while they have repeatedly requested the municipal administration to repair the road, no concrete action has been taken so far. Local traders point out that Kudra Market is a major shopping hub for people from dozens of surrounding villages. Although thousands of people visit daily to purchase essentials, the number of customers is steadily declining due to the road's dilapidated condition. This is directly impacting business, affecting the livelihoods of many shopkeepers.
The situation worsens significantly during the rainy season; even light rain causes the road to become waterlogged and muddy. Wastewater from drains spills onto the road, spreading filth throughout the market. Deep potholes on the road also pose a risk of accidents, making commuting particularly difficult for women, children, and the elderly. According to locals, this road connects a mosque on one side to a Hanuman temple on the other. It is used daily by worshippers attending prayers, devotees visiting the temple, market customers, and schoolchildren. Despite this, no permanent solution has been found for the road's poor condition. Residents report that numerous women, children, and pedestrians have previously been injured after slipping on the road. While assurances of repair are frequently given, the problem remains unresolved. Public resentment is growing due to the apathy of the municipal administration and elected representatives. Traders and local citizens have demanded that the Nagar Panchayat administration immediately repair the road, ensure proper drainage, and make the market area free of potholes. They warn that if the issue is not resolved soon, they will be compelled to launch a protest.
