POLICE ARRESTED A MURDERER CUM RAPIST

ARA----------------------------The woman's body was found near a canal route in Bagwan village under the Agiaon (Garhani) police station area; police apprehended the prime suspect within hours based on CCTV footage and technical evidence.

Ara. The police have swiftly solved the case involving the rape and murder of a woman in the Agiaon (Garhani) police station area of ​​Bhojpur district. The prime suspect has been arrested. He has been identified as Ramdular Ram, alias Prabhas, a resident of Bagwan.

According to the police, information was received on the morning of September 14, 2026, that the body of an unidentified woman was lying under suspicious circumstances near the Bagwan-Dhamania canal route in Bagwan village. Upon receiving the information, the Agiaon (Garhani) police reached the scene and informed senior officials.

The Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) also visited the site to inspect the area; an FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory) team was summoned to secure evidence and conduct a scientific investigation. Based on the inspection of the body and information gathered from villagers, the police suspected, prima facie, that the woman had been raped and then murdered.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased was mentally unstable and had been living at a local samosa shop in Bagwan for the past three to four months. During the investigation, the police examined footage from CCTV cameras installed near the crime scene. According to the police, the deceased was seen scuffling with a suspicious individual around 9:56 PM.

Subsequently, with the assistance of the local *chowkidar* (village watchman) and the police force, the police surrounded the suspect's house and arrested him. The police state that the suspect has confessed to his involvement in the crime during interrogation. An FIR regarding this matter has been registered at the Agiaon (Garhani) police station (Case No. 117/26, dated September 14, 2026). The police are investigating all aspects of the case, and further action is being taken based on the evidence.
