NEWLYWED WOMAN AND IN-LAWS DISAPPEARED SUDDENLY

BHABHUA------------------------An entire family, including a newlywed woman, has suddenly disappeared from their home in Tenua village (under the Karamchat police station area in Rampur block). The bride's father has submitted a formal complaint to the police, expressing suspicion of murder; a case has been registered, and an investigation is underway. Ramakant Tiwari, a resident of Bichhiyan village (Khajura Panchayat, Durgawati police station area), informed the Karamchat police that he had married off his daughter, Sita Kumari, to Vikas Kumar Upadhyay (son of Kanhaiya Upadhyay) of Tenua village on April 27, 2026. Since the wedding, Vikas and his family members had been harassing her mentally over dowry demands, forcibly administering intoxicating pills, subjecting her to electric shocks, and physically assaulting her. When he could not contact her by phone recently and visited the house, he found it locked and the entire family missing. This has raised fears that the in-laws murdered Sita Kumari and fled. Station House Officer (SHO) Pankaj Kumar confirmed that the bride's family had submitted a complaint alleging murder, and the matter is currently under investigation.
