Mandal filed his nomination for RJD state president of Bihar

Patna, June 14, 2025 (Agency) Bihar’s well-known socialist leader Mangani Lal Mandal today filed his nomination papers for the post of RJD State President.
On this occasion, RJD President Lalu Prasad Yadav, party leader Tejashwi Yadav, Dr. Misa Bharti, and several other senior party leaders were present. The formal announcement of his appointment as state president is expected on June 19. Mr. Mandal will succeed party leader Jagada Nand Singh.
A resident of Madhubani district, Mr. Mandal has been active in politics for over four decades. During this time, he has served as a member of the Bihar Legislative Council, a minister in the RJD-led Bihar government, and a member of both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. He began his political career during the Emergency.
Noted social worker Arvind Pathak welcomed the news of Mr. Mandal’s likely appointment, stating that he is not only a respected leader among the backward classes but enjoys support from all sections of society in Bihar. He added that Mr. Mandal also has a strong influence among the forward castes in the Mithila region.— L.S.
