BUXAR-------------------------The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has arrested a tractor driver following a viral social media video showing a tractor-trolley being driven onto the Itadhi railway foot overbridge (FOB). The emergence of the video had caused a stir among railway and district authorities. Recognizing the seriousness of the matter, Sadar SDM Avinash Kumar and Sadar SDPO Gaurav Pandey personally visited the site to investigate.
Following the investigation, a team led by RPF Inspector Kundan Singh examined footage from CCTV cameras installed on the foot overbridge and in the surrounding area. The tractor driver was identified based on this footage. Subsequently, RPF Sub-Inspector Bijendra Muwal and other officers conducted a raid and arrested the accused.
An FIR has been registered at the RPF Post, Buxar (Case No. 28/26, dated 03.07.2026) under Section 159 of the Railways Act. The arrested driver has been identified as Ramji Yadav (39), son of Mohan Yadav, a resident of Beri, Itadhi Police Station, Buxar district.
Sadar SDM Avinash Kumar stated that action is being taken in accordance with the rules. He emphasized that no negligence regarding public property or the safety of passengers would be tolerated.
It is worth noting that the Itadhi railway overbridge (ROB), constructed at a cost of approximately ₹26 crore, was damaged even before its inauguration, leading to the closure of the railway level crossing. The closure of the crossing has caused persistent difficulties for local residents. Amidst this situation, people began using the foot overbridge to commute with two-wheelers. However, the viral video of a tractor driver taking his vehicle—complete with a trolley—onto the foot overbridge raised questions regarding safety measures and administrative oversight. With the arrest of the accused, the administration has made it clear that strict action will continue against those engaging in such negligent behavior.
