BRAOU organised Narla Memorial Lecture
HYDERABAD DEC 01 (RNI) Prof.C.Mrunalini, Head department of Telugu Arya University, Silicandhra (America) Retired professor, Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University, Hyderabad delivered the 30th Narla Memorial Endowment lecture on “Narla Sahitya Rachanalu- Vishleshaana” at Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Open University Hyderabad on Monday.
Prof.Mrunalini said Narla is a prominent Telugu writer, journalist, and playwright known for his realistic one-act plays, societal critique, and significant contributions to Telugu journalism. His works focused on human values, rationalism, and critiquing social injustices. He was particularly known for his one-act plays that brought a sense of realism to the Telugu stage like Sita Josyam, Narakam lo Harischandra, Jabali, Paatha Kotha.
Prof.Ghanta Chakrapani Garu, Vice-Chancellor, BRAOU, Vice-Chancellor, BRAOU who presided over the function, said that the society needs journalists like Narla in the current situation whose values stood as ideal for journalists. Narla's family members donated valuable books to University Library.
Dr.L.Vijaya Krishna Reddy, Registrar of the University also spoke on the occasion. Prof.N.Rajani, incharge Library explain about needs of the program and introduced the chief guest. Earlier the Chief Guest, Directors, Deans, Heads of Branches, Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff Members, representatives of service associations offered floral tributes the Portrait of Narla.
