ARTISTRY OF THE LALIT-NIBANDH CAPTIVATES READERS

PATNA--------------------------The artistry of the *Lalit-Nibandh* attracts and influences readers. Excellent essays compel discerning readers to reflect deeply. Such writing also showcases the essayist's knowledge and linguistic prowess. Participating in such competitions leads to qualitative improvement in essay-writing skills.

These observations were made by B. Thakur—a distinguished litterateur and retired IAS officer—while addressing students during an essay-writing competition held on Monday. The event took place on the seventh day of the 'Hindi Fortnight' and 'Pustak-Chaudas-Mela' (Book Fair) organized by the Bihar Hindi Sahitya Sammelan to mark Hindi Diwas. He also familiarized the students with the nuances of essay-writing.

Participating students from various schools—including Kilkari Bihar Bal Bhavan (Saidpur), Shivam Convent (New Bypass, Kankarbagh, Patna), St. John's Public High School (Park Road, Kadamkuan), Prabhutara School (Sakrigali, Patna), Gangasthali Balika Gyanpith (Digha), and Infant Jesus School (Khajekala, Patna City)—wrote highly insightful and beautifully crafted essays on the topic 'My Favorite Teacher'. They were allotted 40 minutes for the task.

Present on the occasion were members of the jury and organizing committee, including Dr. Neetu Singh, Er. Ashok Kumar (Convener), Dr. Nageshwar Yadav, Krishnaranjan Singh, Indu Bhushan Sahay, Namrata Kumari, V.K. Mishra, Hriday Narayan Jha, and Isha Kumari. Teachers, students, and book lovers also purchased books at the fair.
