ACCUSED ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT ON A 3 YEAR OLD CHILD

BUXAR----------------------------A 30-year-old man has been arrested in Buxar, Bihar, in connection with the assault of a three-year-old child near a Durga Puja pandal.

The incident occurred on night around 9 pm in the Mufassil police station area. The child was playing near the pandal when the accused, identified as Suraj Chaubey, took the child about 100 metres away to a paddy field. The child later returned home crying and informed family members, after which the police were alerted.

Police reached the spot promptly and identified the accused through CCTV footage. Suraj Chaubey was arrested soon after. The child has been sent for medical examination at the Sadar Hospital. Buxar Sadar DSP Gaurav Pandey is supervising the investigation. Mufassil Station House Officer Shambhu Bhagat confirmed the arrest and ongoing probe.

Local resident Dr S.N. Singh described the incident as a warning for all parents. He stressed that adults must remain vigilant during public events such as festivals, fairs, or gatherings, and should not assume children are safe simply because familiar people are around. Parents were advised to watch who children interact with and to listen carefully if a child reports anything unusual, without scolding or dismissing them.

Police have emphasised that the safety of young children remains the responsibility of adults, especially in crowded festive settings.
