ARA--------------------------After the incident of assault and cash snatching with a truck driver in Judge Bazaar of Bihiya police station area, the police took immediate action and registered an FIR. In this case, the police have seized a four-wheeler used in the incident and have started an intensive raid operation to nab the accused.
According to the information received, this incident happened on Monday morning when preparations were being made to unload goods from trucks parked on the roadside in Judge Bazaar. Meanwhile, a dispute arose when a four-wheeler touched a truck. It is alleged that the people traveling in the vehicle beat up the truck drivers fiercely. The victim driver Guddu Yadav has also alleged in his complaint that during the assault, cash worth Rs 22,000 was snatched from him.
Bihiya police station incharge Sundeshwar Kumar Das said that on the basis of the written complaint given by the victim driver, a case has been registered against four to five unknown persons under case number 229/26. Police have seized the four-wheeler used in the incident. The footage of CCTV cameras installed around the incident spot is being thoroughly investigated for the purpose of gathering evidence. The identity of the accused is being ensured through the footage, so that they can be brought under the ambit of the law as soon as possible.
As part of the preliminary investigation, the police had detained two suspects for questioning, however, due to lack of sufficient evidence, they have been released for the time being. The police station chief clarified that the police is investigating the matter seriously and raids are being conducted at possible locations to arrest the accused. He said that anyone taking law into their own hands will not be spared and the police will ensure strict action in this matter. At present, the entire priority of the local police is to identify the culprits and arrest them on the basis of CCTV footage.
