MISCREANT ARRESTED WITH FIREARMS

ARA---------------------------Reaffirming its commitment to crime control, the police from the Krishnagar station in Bhojpur district have achieved a significant breakthrough. On Monday, the police arrested a suspect carrying an illegal weapon and a cartridge at Sohra Bazaar, which falls under the station's jurisdiction.

The arrested individual has been identified as Ajit Kumar, alias Golu, son of the late Triloki Prasad and a resident of Kevatiya village within the Krishnagar police station area. The police recovered a country-made pistol and a live cartridge from his possession.

Providing details of the incident, Krishnagar Station House Officer (SHO) Roshan Kumar stated that the police had received a tip-off about a person roaming the Sohra Bazaar area suspiciously with an illegal firearm. Taking the information seriously, the SHO immediately constituted a team and dispatched a police force to the location.

Upon spotting the police team, the accused attempted to flee, but alert police personnel acted swiftly, chased him down, and apprehended him. He was taken into custody immediately after the illegal weapon was recovered during a search.

The SHO stated that an FIR has been registered against the arrested accused under relevant sections of the Arms Act. The police are currently interrogating him to gather further information regarding his network and the source of the weapon. Following further legal proceedings, he has been sent to judicial custody.
