ARA----------------------------Renowned author, motivational speaker, and human behavior scientist Dr. Deepak Goswami has recently shared a profound insight that has the potential to completely alter the course of our lives. In his writing, he explains that the greatest challenge—and solution—in life lies not in external circumstances, but in changing our own perspective. According to Dr. Goswami, the world is vast and boundless, a place where mountains and oceans, darkness and light, thorns and blossoms all coexist. Yet, the deepest pain a person experiences often comes from their own loved ones—the very people we hold most dear.
Dr. Goswami points out that the very people for whom we toil day and night can sometimes shatter our greatest dreams with just a few words. This is rarely done intentionally, nor is it driven by malice. Often, it is the limitations of their thinking, their own fears, their inexperienced reasoning, and their attachment to societal norms that hollow out our courage from within. Unknowingly, they undermine our resolve.
When we embark on a new idea, the first questions that arise are often: "This isn't possible. This is beyond your capabilities. What will people say? What will relatives think?" Hearing such words makes us doubt our own dreams. That is the moment when—rather than suffering an external defeat—a seed of failure is sown deep within, eventually withering the tree of self-confidence.
Dr. Goswami urges us to pause and reflect: Is the problem truly the world, or is it the way we view the world? Do we need to change other people, or do we need to change our own perspective? He explains that while our eyes, the people around us, and the circumstances remain the same, simply shifting our angle of vision transforms the entire picture. When we stop regarding others' expectations as our ultimate benchmark—and realize that everyone speaks from their own experiences, fears, and limitations—the venom of their words cannot touch us. Dr. Goswami says, "Then, we turn criticism into fuel and indifference into a stepping stone." Criticism is, in fact, proof that we are doing something different. The crowd never criticizes the crowd; opposition arises only when we step away from the ordinary and move towards the extraordinary. History bears witness that those who mock today often seek inspiration from that very person tomorrow. Those who block the path today may wish to walk alongside that person tomorrow. Time is the ultimate proof; it ensures the truth of one's actions is revealed and establishes the truth itself.
Therefore, do not lose sight of your goal. Along the way, there will be criticism, ridicule, indifference from loved ones, and even loneliness. Yet, all of this is a test. And for those who pass the test, the reward is inevitably sweet; it is from a bitter seed that a sweet fruit emerges.
Emphasizing the essence of the Bhagavad Gita, Dr. Goswami states that the most important aspect of this journey is that the action belongs to us, while the burden of the outcome rests with the Divine. "Let Gopal's will prevail." When the effort is ours but our trust lies in that Supreme Power, it matters not how many gather to pull us down; the One who lifts us up is sufficient. That voice within, that unseen power, that Gopal who pervades every atom—He is always with us. He sees our tears, our sleepless nights, and our silent struggles; He never lets a sincere effort go to waste.
He advised that we must make our mindset our greatest armor. Do not let it be tarnished by anyone's bitter words; do not let it be diminished by comparisons; do not let it be poisoned by anyone's envy. The day your mindset becomes unwavering, and the day you become fully committed to your decision, your future, too, will become steadfast. The world does not change from the outside; it changes from within. And inner transformation comes only from a shift in perspective.
Dr. Goswami clarifies that changing one’s perspective does not mean escapism; rather, it means taking responsibility. It means acknowledging that we alone are accountable for the direction of our lives. Listen to others, but make your own final decisions. Seek advice, but do not ask for validation. Seek cooperation, but do not seek approval. For the dreams are yours, the struggle will be yours, and the victory will be yours alone.
Remember, a seed must sprout in darkness. A stone must endure blows to be carved into a masterpiece. Gold must undergo the fire. If you are facing hardship now, know that you are being forged. If you face opposition, know that you are on the right path. If you are alone, know that you are stepping away from the crowd to become something extraordinary.
So, rise. Pick up your dreams again. Shake off the dust. And set out once more—this time with greater determination, serenity, and faith. People’s words will come and go, but your actions and your dedication will endure, and ultimately, so will your victory.
Extending his heartfelt best wishes, Dr. Deepak Goswami said, “May your dreams not only be fulfilled but also serve as a beacon for society. May others find courage through your success. May your life be filled with light, your mind with peace, and your actions with steadfastness. And whenever you feel weary or your mind wavers, simply remember that a shift in perspective automatically changes your direction. Let God’s will prevail.” This message calls upon us to look within and make a fresh start.
