AINU Celebrates National Nutrition Week, Highlights Importance of Kidney-Friendly Diets

In an endeavour to spread awareness regarding the importance of nutritious meals for one’s well-being and kidney health.
highlighting the importance of balanced nutrition in maintaining kidney and overall health.
Experts at AINU emphasized that dietary choices directly impact kidney function, especially for individuals at risk of chronic kidney disease (CKD), hypertension, or diabetes.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Srikanth Gundlapalli, Senior Consultant Nephrologist & Transplant Physician, Asian Institute of Nephrology and Urology said.
Kidneys are vital to filtering waste and maintaining overall health. By adopting simple dietary changes—like reducing salt, moderating protein intake, and choosing fresh, whole foods—people can significantly reduce their risk of kidney disease.

One major concern these days are renal stones, when we hear about it the one suggestion that comes from every corner is to increase fluid intake or water intake and adding diuretics to your medication list”.
AINU’s National Nutrition Week celebrations also included special diet consultations for patients, recipe-sharing sessions for renal-friendly meals, and informative discussions on combating obesity, hypertension, and diabetes through healthy eating.
