-In a major crackdown on liquor smuggling, the police seized 257.185 liters of Indian-Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) from an Ertiga car near Jigni Bridge. Two individuals—the vehicle owner (who is also a liquor trader) and the driver—were arrested. Police also confiscated two smartphones, ₹35,400 in cash, and the liquor-laden Ertiga car (BR-01HG-5208) from the scene. According to the police, a tip-off was received around 1:00 AM on July 26 indicating that a consignment of liquor was being transported in an Ertiga car from the direction of Durgawati. Acting on this information, a raid team led by Bhabua Station House Officer (SHO) Mukesh Kumar set up an intensive vehicle check near Jigni Bridge.

During this time, an attempt was made to stop a suspicious Ertiga car, but the driver tried to flee upon seeing the police. The police team intercepted and apprehended the vehicle. A search of the car led to the recovery of 604 bottles of Indian-Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) of various brands, totaling 257.185 liters.
Interrogation revealed that the seized liquor had been purchased in Uttar Pradesh and was being transported to Paliganj in Patna district for sale. The arrested individuals have been identified as Praveen Kumar (vehicle owner and liquor trader) and Rahul Kumar (driver), both residents of Piperdaha Bangla under the Paliganj police station in Patna district. The police have registered a case against both individuals under the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act and initiated further legal proceedings. The operation involved Station House Officer (SHO) Mukesh Kumar, Sub-Inspector Naveen Kumar, Probationary Sub-Inspector Pradeep Kumar, Constables Anubhav Anurag and Kuldeep Kumar, and Female Constable Reema Kumari.
