ARA------------------------------The police have solved the murder case of Pritam Kumar Singh (alias Pritam Raj), an Intermediate student and resident of Masarh village under the Gajrajganj Outpost (OP) area. Two youths from the same village killed him using a stone and a knife following a dispute over ₹44,000. Both have been arrested by the police. The knife and stone used in the murder were recovered based on information provided by them. The blood-stained clothes worn by the perpetrators at the time of the incident have also been seized.
The arrested individuals are Anshu Kumar (son of Pintu Singh) and Bholu Kumar Singh (son of the late Rinku Sudhan Singh), both residents of Masarh village. During interrogation, both confessed to the crime before the police. The police succeeded in tracking down the perpetrators through technical and scientific investigation.
Sadar SDPO-1 Raj Kumar Sah shared this information during a press conference on Monday. He stated that Pritam Kumar Singh (alias Pritam Raj) was stabbed to death after leaving home on the evening of July 17 to make a purchase. His body was recovered that night from the Mahadalit settlement in the village.
Given the gravity of the case, a special team led by Station House Officer (SHO) Chanchal Kumar Mahatha was constituted on the orders of the Superintendent of Police. Assistance from the District Intelligence Unit (DIU) was also sought for technical support. Through scientific and technical investigation, the team successfully solved the murder case and arrested Anshu Kumar and Bholu Kumar Singh. According to the interrogation, the three individuals worked together. Anshu and Bholu were in possession of ₹44,000 belonging to Pritam Kumar Singh (alias Pritam Raj), and he had been pressuring them to return the money. Following a dispute over this matter and after conducting reconnaissance, the duo intercepted Pritam Kumar Singh on the evening of July 17. They first crushed him with a stone and then murdered him by slitting his throat with a knife.
The SDPO stated that Anshu and Bholu were the named accused in the murder case. Both have been arrested, and the items used in the crime—including the stone and the knife—have been recovered. A proposal will now be sent to the court to conduct a speedy trial, with the aim of filing a charge sheet soon and securing the conviction of the accused.
It is worth noting that on the evening of July 17, Pritam Kumar Singh (alias Pritam Raj)—the 18-year-old son of Mithilesh Singh, a resident of Masarh village—was murdered with a sharp-edged weapon while he had gone out to purchase some items.
