ARA------------------------A case of encroachment has come to light regarding the premises of the former CID Deputy Superintendent's office, located opposite the Superintendent of Police's office in Ara. According to locals, the premises previously housed the CID office and an evidence storage facility (*malkhana*). Currently, the office is closed, and a cattle shed is allegedly being operated on the site. Locals state that this office was previously responsible for compiling and analyzing crime-related data for the district. It played a crucial role in monitoring the activities of criminals; however, the premises currently lie deserted.
Allegations have been raised that cows are being kept right against the boundary wall of the Superintendent of Police (SP) office, raising concerns about potential damage to the structure. Residents argue that any untoward incident in the area could also raise questions regarding security arrangements.
According to locals, alleged encroachment on the former CID office premises is disrupting traffic on the road connecting that site to the SP office. Frequent traffic jams occur, causing inconvenience to the general public.
Local citizens have demanded the removal of encroachments from the government premises and have called for an investigation and appropriate action. So far, there has been no official response from the administration or the police regarding this matter.
