DRIVER KILLED THE EO

SASARAM--------------------------In the murder case of Vimal Kumar, the Executive Officer (EO) of the Dehri-Dalmianagar Municipal Council, his wife Babita Kumari filed a written complaint at the Barun police station on Sunday, naming the driver, Mithilesh Kumar, as the prime accused. The police have registered a case under Section 103(1) of the IPC. In her complaint, Babita Kumari stated that at approximately 9:19 PM on August 1, 2026, the driver, Mithilesh Kumar, called to inform her that her husband had passed away. Initially, she thought he might have sustained minor injuries, but it was later discovered that he was not breathing. His wife alleged that Mithilesh had previously verbally abused and harassed her husband. Recently, Vimal Kumar had spoken about dismissing him from his job; this prompted him to hatch a conspiracy to commit the murder. The driver, Mithilesh Kumar, is a resident of Kauwa Sonap village under the Dehri police station area; the police have arrested him. Magadh Range IG Vikas Vaibhav stated that the driver repeatedly changed his statement during questioning but eventually confessed to the crime under rigorous interrogation. He revealed that following a confrontation en route, he killed the victim by striking him with an iron rod and initially planned to stage an accident to destroy evidence. A forensic team has collected evidence from the scene, and the rod used in the murder was recovered from the canal with the help of divers. The police are investigating every aspect of the case.
