ARA-------------------------A special camp was organized on Friday at the Koilwar Nagar Panchayat office to assist beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana (Prime Minister's Solar Home Free Electricity Scheme).

The primary objective of the camp was to address issues related to bank loans for consumers interested in installing solar rooftops under the scheme.

However, consumers had to return disappointed as no bank officials or staff members arrived, despite prior notification.

Kundan Kumar, the SDO of the Electricity Department who was present at the venue, stated that many consumers are facing difficulties in obtaining bank loans under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.

The special camp was organized at the Nagar Panchayat office specifically to resolve these issues. He stated that departmental officials at the camp are providing consumers with information about the scheme and offering necessary guidance.

Prabhat Kumar, a Junior Engineer (JE) with the Electricity Department, mentioned that consumers with a monthly electricity consumption of 300 units or more are being informed about the 'Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana' via telephone and encouraged to visit the camp.

He noted that this scheme could prove highly beneficial for consumers with high electricity consumption.

He added that the camp would continue to operate at the Nagar Panchayat office until Saturday, allowing interested consumers to visit and obtain information regarding the scheme.

However, due to the absence of bank representatives on the first day, queries related to the loan process, documentation, and financial assistance could not be addressed.

Consumers demanded that the presence of bank officials be ensured at the camp the following day to facilitate the process of availing the scheme's benefits.
