BUXAR---------------------------The investigation into the high-profile murder of a Personal Assistant (PA) in West Bengal has now extended to Buxar, Bihar. Working to get to the bottom of the case, a team from the West Bengal STF conducted a late-night raid in the Pandeypatti area, under the jurisdiction of the Mufassil Police Station, and took history-sheeter Vishal Srivastava into custody. The operation created a stir in the locality that persisted late into the night.
According to reports, approximately a dozen criminal cases—including charges of murder, violations of the Arms Act, and assault—are registered against Vishal Srivastava across various police stations in the district. Police sources suggest that he is likely to yield significant information regarding the prominent Chandranath Rath murder case in West Bengal. In connection with this matter, the STF team has taken him into custody for interrogation.
However, the Buxar Police have not officially clarified whether Vishal Srivastava was detained specifically in connection with the Chandranath Rath murder case or if the action was taken based on other intelligence inputs. He was initially brought to the Mufassil Police Station, where he underwent hours of questioning.
Meanwhile, a new update has emerged regarding the case. The police have also detained two other youths, whom the team subsequently took away with them. Vishal Srivastava, however, remains currently detained at the Mufassil Police Station. Station House Officer (SHO) Shambhunath Bhagat stated that Vishal Srivastava would be released shortly.
The Mufassil SHO further remarked that only the West Bengal Police could provide clear details regarding the specific case for which Vishal was taken into custody. For the time being, the police are refraining from openly disclosing any details concerning the entire sequence of events.
