ARA---------------------------A case involving the embezzlement of crores of rupees at Sant Barhana Women's College had come to light previously. There has been persistent discussion in newspapers and at the local level regarding the massive-scale misuse of college funds.
To date, the general public, students, and parents have not been provided with information regarding the following: Who was found guilty during the investigation into the embezzlement case? What action was taken against the culprits? Has the embezzled amount been recovered or not?
To what extent is it justifiable to spend lakhs of rupees from college funds on welcoming ceremonies for MLAs, Ministers, and political figures?
On what grounds were appointment letters distributed while the Model Code of Conduct was in force in the Bhojpur and Buxar districts?
What is the status of appointments made previously, and why have they not been investigated?
This is an extremely serious matter. Educational institutions serve as the focal point of public trust and the future of students. If college funds have been utilized for political purposes, spent irregularly, or used to facilitate appointments in violation of established rules, then an impartial inquiry into these matters is absolutely essential.
Therefore, we demand that: A high-level and impartial inquiry be conducted into the entire matter. Legal action be initiated against all individuals found guilty of involvement in the embezzlement and irregularities. An investigation into the misuse of college funds be conducted, and the resulting report be made public for the benefit of the citizens. The validity of the appointment letters distributed during the period when the Model Code of Conduct was in force be examined. All appointments made prior to this period also be reviewed.
If a prompt inquiry and appropriate action are not undertaken, we—along with the general public, students, and social activists—will be compelled to launch a protest movement, for the consequences of which the administration shall bear full responsibility.
