ARA----------------------------Expressing deep concern over the dilapidated condition of the Bihiya Overbridge, it was stated that the failure to commence work—despite the overbridge having been closed to heavy vehicles for over a year—reflects gross negligence on the part of the government.
Due to the excessive pressure of heavy vehicles diverting onto the roads surrounding Bihiya, these roads have crumbled. Long traffic jams are occurring daily, causing immense hardship to the general public, patients, students, and traders. Despite this, the indifferent attitude of the administration is highly reprehensible.
A road was constructed near the Bihiya Overbridge at a cost of lakhs of rupees; however, due to the engineers' failure to implement proper drainage systems, waterlogging has once again become a recurring issue. Dangerous potholes have formed at several spots on the road, resulting in pedestrians falling and sustaining injuries on a daily basis.
If immediate repair work and drainage arrangements are not undertaken, a major accident could occur at any moment.
I demand that the District Administration and the State Government immediately initiate the construction work on the overbridge, repair the damaged roads, and establish a permanent drainage system.
