A fake Facebook account was created using the name and a photo of a female student from the Beur area, which had been downloaded from her real profile. It is alleged that the accused used AI technology to merge their own image with the student's photo, posted it on social media, and made obscene comments.
In her complaint filed at the cyber police station, the victim stated that her photos were being misused via the fake account. The accused was repeatedly making offensive posts and comments, thereby damaging her social reputation. The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.
Similarly, a fake Instagram account was created using the photograph of a young woman from the Bhagwanganj area. The accused was posting inappropriate comments from that account and had even added the woman's family members as friends. The matter came to light after the family noticed the posts, leading to a complaint being filed at the cyber police station.
According to the cyber police, there has been a steady rise in incidents where fake accounts are created on social media platforms to misuse girls' photos and defame them. The police are urging the public to remain vigilant and to report such incidents immediately.
