TRIBUTES TO MD RAFI AND FREEDOM FIGHTER RAMCHANDRA LAL

ARA--------------------------A tribute meeting was organized at Anand Hospital, located on Ramna-Pakdi Road, to mark the death anniversaries of the 'Emperor of Melody' (Swar Samrat) the late Mohammed Rafi and the renowned freedom fighter the late Ramchandra Lal Ji. The event was presided over by Dr. K.N. Sinha, a prominent senior physician, former Additional Chief Medical Officer, and District President of the Medical Forum (Bharatiya Janata Party).

Family members, friends, and lovers of art and music present on the occasion paid floral tributes to the portraits of both personalities. Dr. Sinha recalled that his father, the late Ramchandra Lal Ji, was a renowned freedom fighter, a social worker, and the lifelong president of the Bikramganj Manas Satsang Samiti. He was a hardworking, spirited, and religious man with an inspiring personality. Together with his wife, the late Savitri Devi, he undertook the renovation of numerous monasteries, temples, places of worship, and wells. He provided all manner of assistance to the needy and destitute, distributing food and drinking water during times of famine and scorching heat. As for the 'Emperor of Melody,' the late Mohammed Rafi, any words of praise would be akin to showing a lamp to the sun; he possessed a divine voice. His songs, sung for every occasion, serve as a source of strength and inspiration in life. In the evening, food packets were distributed among the destitute, the needy, and those living on the streets around Ramna Maidan and near the Mahavir Temple. A musical tribute titled "Ek Shaam, Rafi Ke Naam" (An Evening Dedicated to Rafi) was organized, featuring musical and artistic performances by the city's renowned singers. Prominent among the performers were Advocate Pappu Purushottam, Deepak Jain, Ratan Ji, Prakash Suman, Dr. Madan Mohan Dwivedi, Dr. Vivek Sinha, Ashok Raj, Ramesh Kumar Barman, Md. Manzoor, and Dr. K.N. Sinha himself. Instrumental accompaniment was provided by Anoop Kshatriya, Pappu Shahbadi, Ajay Kumar, Chandra Mohan Ojha, Rajiv Kumar Ojha, and others. Others present included retired DSP Avinash Kumar, Shashi Ji, Anil Ji, Pradeep Kumar, Vinod Kumar, Shiv Narayan Rai, Harendra Prasad, Omprakash Srivastava, Raju Kumar Yadav, Shashikant Kumar, and others.
