JJD RAISES VOICE FOR STUDENTS’ RELEASE

ARA--------------------------A press conference was organized by the JJD in Ara, Bhojpur district, following the release of JJD National President and former minister Tej Pratap Yadav from Beur Central Jail; he had previously been arrested during the 'Bihar Bandh'. During this time, party leaders welcomed the release of Tej Pratap Yadav and demanded the early release of students arrested during the agitation.

The press conference was organized by the JJD (Bhojpur unit), where the party's Bhojpur district spokesperson, Ramesh Yadav, addressed the media. He stated that a massive protest was held in Bihar on July 25 in support of the ongoing student movement in Delhi, and Tej Pratap Yadav had participated in it. He was arrested during the event and sent to Beur Central Jail. Ramesh Yadav claimed that the government was forced to release Tej Pratap Yadav after three days due to sustained pressure from students and leaders of various political parties. He added that had he not been released, the agitation could have escalated further.

He further stated that the government should also promptly release all students arrested during the protests. Demanding the withdrawal of cases and charges filed against the students, he warned that if this were not done, a fresh agitation would be launched in collaboration with student organizations and various political parties.

During the press conference, party leaders described the student protest as a democratic right and urged the government to make decisions with sensitivity. So far, there has been no official response from the government regarding these demands.
