HEAVY VEHCLES PLYING DESPITE BAN

ARA--------------------------Villagers are outraged over the continued movement of trucks on the Garhani-Bagar route, despite a ban on heavy vehicle operations. According to the villagers, a truck loaded with stone chips collided with a passenger-laden tempo near Sohri village. Although no major tragedy occurred in this instance, a serious accident could have taken place had the tempo overturned.

It is worth noting that on June 30, 2026, a husband and wife riding a motorcycle died tragically on the spot after being struck by a trailer near the Balbandh Sun Temple. The deceased were identified as Arjun Pal and his wife Rani Pal, residents of Bahri. Following that incident, villagers had staged a protest by blocking the road, citing the movement of heavy vehicles as the primary cause of such accidents.

Subsequently, Piro Sub-Divisional Officer Krishna Kant Upadhyay and Charpokhari Station House Officer (SHO) Ravishankar Kumar had announced a ban on the movement of heavy vehicles, trucks, and sand-laden trailers on the Bagar route.

Villagers allege that heavy vehicle movement continues despite the ban. After the collision between the truck and the tempo, villagers stopped the truck and blocked the road. Upon receiving the information, the Charpokhari police arrived at the scene, took the truck into custody, and initiated further action.
