SASARAM-------------------------On Thursday morning, Bihar's Economic Offences Unit (EOU) initiated major action against Arvind Kumar Chaudhary, an Executive Engineer posted at the Minor Irrigation Division in Sasaram, Rohtas district, on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. An EOU team launched simultaneous raids and search operations across six different locations linked to him. This move has caused a stir within the departmental and administrative circles. According to the EOU, following the verification of information received from reliable sources, a case has been registered against the engineer for accumulating assets exceeding his known income by approximately ₹1.20 crore.
Legal action is underway following the registration of an FIR under EOU Case No. 15/26 (dated July 29, 2026), invoking Section 13(2) read with Section 13(1)(b) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (as amended in 2018). The EOU's search operation is currently ongoing. Further legal action will be determined based on the documents and other evidence recovered during the search.
