BHABHUA-------------------------Even in this modern era, the tradition of Sawan is being observed in the traditional manner in Kharenda village, Rampur block. Here, young children are singing Sawan songs while swinging on swings tied to Peepal and Banyan trees.
Village women decorate the swings using colorful ropes. Dressed in new clothes, children enjoy the swings while singing *Kajri*, *Barahmasa*, and other Sawan songs. Grandmothers also share stories related to Sawan while pushing the children on the swings.
Locals state that this tradition has been observed in Kharenda village for several decades. Swinging on swings is a traditional way to welcome the arrival of the monsoon and the lush greenery. Even in the age of mobile phones and television, children appeared quite enthusiastic about this traditional pastime.
Villagers noted that the swing is not merely a source of entertainment but also a symbol of the village's unity and culture.
