BHOJPURI IS OUR MOTHER TONGUE, YET IT GETS NO RESPECT:AWADHESH MISHRA

ARA-----------------------Renowned Bhojpuri film actor Awadhesh Mishra has made a significant statement regarding the Bhojpuri language. Speaking at a private event in Ara, he noted that while millions of people across the country and abroad speak Bhojpuri, the language has yet to secure a place in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution. Describing this as unfortunate, he asserted that Bhojpuri deserves the respect it is due.

Speaking to the media, Awadhesh Mishra highlighted that many artists associated with Bhojpuri cinema have reached the national Parliament as well as state Legislative Assemblies and Councils. Despite this, the Bhojpuri language has not yet received constitutional recognition. He mentioned that while continuous efforts are being made to promote Bhojpuri, the expected results have not yet materialized. According to him, every section of society must unite and raise its voice to ensure the preservation of the Bhojpuri language and culture.

The actor also addressed the issues of shooting Bhojpuri films in Bihar and the lack of government incentives. He pointed out that while artists and producers in many other states receive grants for shooting regional films, such facilities are unavailable in Bihar. He further noted that although the scope of the Bhojpuri film industry is constantly expanding, it is not receiving the necessary support from the state government.

The actor shared his views on the shooting of Bhojpuri films in Bihar and the matter of government incentives. He noted that artists and producers in many other states receive grants for shooting regional films, whereas such facilities are not available in Bihar. Additionally, he remarked that while the Bhojpuri film industry is steadily growing, it is not receiving the support it desperately needs from the state.
